New Kid (goat)

Now that I have turned 50 I have joined the ranks of those that aren’t able to sleep at times. Math has never been my friend so counting sheep is out of the question for me. My question for you is, “have you ever said your ABC’s to help you go to sleep?” It has worked better than Tylenol PM or Lunesta, and Nite All. Now smile! Here’s what you do. I take each alphabet letter and find a word that describes God to me. Sometimes I try to find an action word that would describe my powerful God. So here is an example and here is to a good nights sleep!

Sitting in an airport in Amsterdam I felt overwhelmed with my inability to communicate with the people that were sitting there around me. They were Indian, Kenyan, Russian, and a sprinkling of Americans. We were on the last leg of our journey. Leaving Amsterdam and flying to Nairobi Kenya East Africa. My heart went out to the families that were traveling with tiny babies, and children. During our layover there we had the opportunity to hear the cries of babies, and young children. It was then that I had an aha moment. These cries were comforting to me as it was a familiar language we all could understand. Either they were hungry, wet, or tired. We didn’t need an interpreter. That is when I asked God this question. “What are the cries of YOUR people?” In my heart I heard the Lord say, “I know the cries of my people.”

Like fleas in a jar that jump and bounce off the lid. They are
going nowhere. As if there is a thick sheet of plexiglass over my head.
My prayers…. when I pray, they seem to hit “the lid.” Self contained are they making a difference?

Will YOU hear me GOD?

I’ve heard followers of Christ say in frustration, “the heavens are as brass when I pray!” “It seems like my prayers are only going so far!”

Is this discouraging? Or…. Could it be a divine opportunity to “PUSH” pray until something happens!
